About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Automotive Audio Software Developer with strong hands-on experience in Android Automotive/AOSP and QNX-based embedded platforms.The candidate will design, develop, integrate, and debug automotive audio software across the complete stack, covering Android Audio Framework, Audio HAL, audio middleware/management, QNX, and underlying hardware interfaces.The role requires strong Modern C++, embedded-system fundamentals, system-level debugging capability, and a good understanding of Automotive Infotainment audio architecture.QNX Hands-on development experience on QNX-based embedded systems.Experience with QNX-based audio middleware/audio-management components.Understanding of QNX Sound Architecture and device-driver concepts is beneficial.Automotive AudioGood understanding of: Audio routing and audio managementAudio streamingAudio device handlingLow-latency audioInternal/external amplifiersDSP integrationStrong system-level debugging and problem-solving skills.Android Automotive AudioHands-on experience with AOSP/Android Audio Framework.Experience with: AudioFlingerAudioPolicyManager / AudioPolicyServiceAudioManager / AudioServiceCar Audio FrameworkAudio routing and device managementAudio HALAIDL/HIDLStrong Android debugging using logcat, bug reports and Tombstone logs.Familiarity with ALSA/TinyALSA and PCM/audio streaming is advantageous.Must-Have Technical SkillsC++ / EmbeddedStrong C++11/14/17 programming skills.Strong understanding of object-oriented design, STL, memory management, multithreading, concurrency and synchronization.Good understanding of embedded systems and RTOS concepts.Preferred / Good-to-Have SkillsExperience with Qualcomm automotive audio architecture and DSP frameworks.Experience with Hypervisor-based IVI architectures.Hands-on knowledge of tools such as QACT/QXDM and Qualcomm ACDB.Knowledge of low-level audio interfaces such as I2S"font-family:Segoe UI;font-size:10.5pt">.Knowledge of audio DSP processing, effects and tuning.Understanding of CAN/vehicle signals influencing audio behavior.Experience with UML/design tools and software design patterns.Familiarity with SAFe/Agile and ASPICE.Knowledge of ISO 26262 and secure software development practices.Exposure to AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot; familiarity with LLMs/AI Agents/agentic workflows can be an additional advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and refine requirements for automotive audio software components.Design and develop embedded audio software using Modern C/C++.Develop, customize, and debug Android/AOSP Audio Framework and Audio HAL components.Work with AudioFlinger, AudioPolicyService/AudioPolicyManager, AudioService, Car Audio Framework, AIDL/HIDL and audio routing.Develop and maintain QNX/POSIX-based audio middleware, audio services and audio-management components.Work with POSIX concepts including multithreading, IPC, synchronization, shared memory, message queues and sockets.Integrate audio software with DSP frameworks, OS services, HAL and hardware interfaces.Analyze complex issues across Application Framework/Middleware , HAL, OS, DSP ,Hardware layers.Support platform bring-up, integration, validation, and customer-specific audio configurations.Prepare and review high-level and low-level software designs, including UML-based designs.Perform unit testing using frameworks such as Google Test/GTest and contribute to CI/CD activities.Participate in design and code reviews and drive clean-code and software-quality practices.Provide technical guidance to team members and support cross-functional teams in resolving complex audio issues.B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunication, or a related engineering discipline5-9 years
