About the Role

Our Electrified Motion – Power Electronics division develops advanced technologies that enable the next generation of electrified vehicles. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the robustness and long-term reliability of our automotive power electronics products, including inverters, on-board chargers and DC-DC converters.In this role, you will contribute across the entire product lifecycle – from concept phase through series production and field support – while supporting cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising product reliability.Your tasks:► Evaluate customer reliability requirements and relevant automotive standards (e.g., ISO 16750, AEC-Q100, AEC-Q101) and define reliability targets for power electronics systems and components► Identify, analyze and mitigate reliability-related risks during product development using structured methodologies such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)► Analyze complete automotive systems to define use cases, mission profiles and load conditions (electrical, thermal, mechanical) and apply Design for Reliability (DfR) and physics-of-failure principles► Define reliability design guidelines and develop test and validation plans, including accelerated life testing at component and system level► Support cost optimization and target costing initiatives while ensuring that product robustness and reliability targets are maintained► Lead systematic problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D, Ishikawa) for production and field issues and perform root cause analysis based on field data► Document analyses, test results and findings and present reliability-related topics to internal stakeholders and customers► Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Physics, Chemistry or a related field► Proven professional experience in reliability engineering, ideally within the automotive or power electronics industry, or relevant fields with willingness to develop further in this area► Experience with high-voltage power electronics products such as inverters, DC-DC converters or on-board chargers is an advantage► In-depth understanding of physics-of-failure mechanisms in electronic components and materials► Strong knowledge of statistical reliability methods (e.g., Weibull analysis) and risk evaluation approaches► Familiarity with component and system-level reliability standards (e.g., JEDEC, AEC-Q) is beneficial► Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach► Confident communication skills in English; German language knowledge is an advantageWhat gives you further advantages:► Experience in automotive electrification or e-mobility projects ► Knowledge of reliability testing and validation methodologies ► Experience working in cross-functional and international project teamsGet to know our #LikeABosch benefits.We would like to help you GROW, so we offer you:Financial security & recognition: We review and increase your competitive base salary annually, offer performance-, loyalty-, and referral bonus.Trainings and professional development: We believe in a Life-Long Learning approach, so you can take advantage of several technical and soft skill trainings and language courses.Career development: We have a wide range of programs to choose from, even if its leadership, expert or project development you are aiming for.
