Cato Networks is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Research & Infrastructure team in our Security Research group.You'll build the systems behind Cato's security research and help turn that research into product capabilities. You'll work closely with researchers across the group to understand what they need, and you'll own each solution from requirements and architecture through implementation and delivery.Our team builds platforms for threat intelligence, malware hunting and attack analysis, along with scalable pipelines for processing large volumes of data. AI tools are part of how we design, build, test and research every day. Responsibilities Own the full development lifecycle of systems and applications: gather requirements, define technical specifications, design the architecture, and build backend services and web interfaces. Build threat intelligence, malware hunting and attack analysis platforms that support Cato's security operations and its Managed Threat Detection & Response (MDR) service. Build tools that let researchers investigate threats, develop security content and create detection signatures. Design the workflows and infrastructure that bring research outputs into Cato's customer-facing products. Build scalable data processing and analysis solutions on the Cato Cloud data warehouse, automate protocol analysis, and integrate with internal and external services. Requirements 3+ years of server-side development in Python. 3+ years of web development with modern frameworks. A strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including system architecture, code design and end-to-end development. Proven ability to turn stakeholder needs into clear requirements and working technical solutions. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL and Redis. Ability to use AI tools effectively in daily engineering work and critically evaluate their output. Strong ownership, initiative and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluent English. BSc in Computer Science or a related field. Advantages Experience with React. Experience with big-data technologies such as Apache Spark. Background in security or networking.
