Anduril Industries•Costa Mesa, California, United States•On-site•($183,000 - $243,000)

About the Role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.ABOUT THE TEAM Anduril’s Maneuver Dominance (MD) business delivers platforms, systems, and integrated effects in the Group 3/4/5 aviation domains. Our autonomous vehicles are the cornerstone of these capabilities, and we continually strive to push the boundaries of the possible in terms of endurance, autonomy and mission capability. The MD team develops and maintains core products and payloads, and adapts and applies those products to serve a wide variety of defense, IC and commercial customers in US and international markets. ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking an exceptional Senior Finance Manager to serve as the right hand and chief of staff to the MD Head of Finance. This high-visibility, jack-of-all-trades role pairs a strong finance, accounting, and systems background with the project-management skill to drive key initiatives end to end. With business line managers owning their individual P&Ls, you will be the connective tissue that pulls their results, plans, and forecasts into a consolidated divisional view and gives senior leadership the visibility they need. Your mandate is to build the systems, rigor, and repeatable processes that let MD Finance scale with a fast-evolving business — driving the financial systems roadmap and bringing discipline to annual and long-range planning, the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close, and the reporting packages delivered to leadership. This is a hybrid role — roughly half chief-of-staff support to the Head of Finance, half special projects and finance transformation. The ideal candidate is versatile and growth-minded, thrives on variety and ambiguity, and sees MD's rapid scaling as a chance to build from scratch, juggle competing priorities, and grow their scope. You will be a trusted advisor to the finance leadership team, keeping priorities aligned, operations running smoothly, and key initiatives moving. Strong communication skills and a finance or accounting background are essential; this is a polished, driven operator's role in a complex, fast-moving environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO Chief of Staff & Strategic Support Serve as the right hand, chief of staff, and trusted advisor to the MD Head of Finance and leadership team — driving execution of department priorities, keeping operations running smoothly, and moving key initiatives forward. Enable effective decision-making by synthesizing information and consolidating divisional performance reporting — turning analysis, KPIs, and OKRs across the business lines into executive-level briefings, MBR/QBR materials, and a single, aligned view of performance against corporate goals. Serve as the primary liaison between MD Finance and Corporate Finance, business-unit leaders, and shared services to streamline communication and data flow. Step in for the Head of Finance — representing finance in key meetings and keeping decisions and workstreams moving. Financial Systems & Transformation Drive the divisional financial systems roadmap — selecting, implementing and improving the tools and capabilities needed to support a rapidly evolving business. Partner across finance, accounting and operations to improve systems, tools and processes, cutting manual effort and turnaround time. Planning, Close & Reporting Establish rigor and repeatable process across annual and long-range planning and the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close, in lockstep with corporate finance timelines. Track headcount and spend against budget, surfacing trends and variances for the Head of Finance and business line managers to act on. Communication & Coordination Project manage cross-functional initiatives, keeping stakeholders aligned and deliverables on track against deadlines. Coordinate finance leadership meetings, set agendas, and ensure timely follow-up on action items. Prepare internal communications, dashboards, and presentations for executive meetings and leadership reviews. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners and senior leadership across MD and corporate finance. Act as a confidential sounding board, advisor, and force multiplier for the Head of Finance across sensitive and cross-functional matters. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA/CFA a plus. 7+ years across FP&A, accounting, and/or finance, including hands-on exposure to financial systems and process improvement. Advanced Excel and financial modeling, plus experience with financial reporting tools and ERP systems (e.g., Anaplan, NetSuite, Oracle, Foundry). Exceptional PowerPoint skills, with the ability to build polished, executive-ready decks under tight timelines. Proven ability to project manage cross-functional initiatives and build new, scalable processes with a hands-on approach. Strong command of planning cycles and the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close and reporting, ideally in a high-growth or capital-intensive business. Intellectually curious and highly analytical — precise and detail-oriented, able to rapidly dissect complex quantitative problems and mine data for insights that remove bias. An exceptional written and oral communicator who translates complex financial and accounting concepts into clear, accessible insight and drives consensus through grounded arguments. A creative, results-oriented problem-solver with the drive and tenacity to see initiatives through to completion. A versatile self-starter energized by ambiguity, competing priorities, and a broad range of problems — someone who sees wearing multiple hats as an opportunity, not a constraint. Exceptionally organized, managing multiple workstreams and competing deadlines without dropping details. Polished and professional, with the confidence and executive presence to operate credibly in highly visible, accountable positions. A driven work ethic and full-time, in-office presence — based on-site, working side by side with the Head of Finance day to day. Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance Must be authorized to work in the United States. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a defense, aerospace, hardware, or otherwise highly regulated and capital-intensive industry. Familiarity with financial transformation, digital finance tools, and automation initiatives. Hands-on Alteryx experience for data preparation, blending, and workflow automation — a critical requirement for this role. Deep technical accounting expertise, including revenue recognition under ASC 606 and other complex, judgment-intensive areas, with the ability to translate accounting guidance into operational process.
