Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide. As a leader in the Maritime Division, you must be a technical leader with the expertise to evaluate, qualify, manage, and advocate for an increasing number of sophisticated parallel pursuits. This role is crucial in ensuring that each initiative aligns with the company’s strategic direction and receives the appropriate resourcing, balancing innovation with practical execution to drive the business line’s success. ABOUT THE JOB You will lead structural mechanical design for a maritime autonomous vehicle. Reporting to the Structures Lead, you will own the primary structure, performing analysis and design for pressure, fatigue, and environmental loading across the full ocean depth envelope.The structure has to survive full-depth pressure cycling, marine corrosion, and fatigue over the vehicle's service life, while staying light enough to meet buoyancy and endurance targets. Those three pull against each other, and this role owns the trade. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own structural mechanical design for the vehicle primary structure Perform structural analysis: FEA, hand calculations, fatigue, and buckling Select materials and protective coatings for marine environments Define structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systems Support GD&T definition and interface with manufacturing Drive trade studies balancing structural mass, strength, and producibility Support prototype builds and structural test campaigns Contribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentation Travel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilities REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent 5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systems Proficiency with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent) Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environments Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with pressure vessel or submarine structure design Working knowledge of composite structures for marine applications Experience with fatigue and fracture mechanics analysis Familiarity with ASME or DNV structural design codes Experience in defense or maritime robotics US Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
