Senior Vehicle Hardware Engineer – Electrical & System Integration (ADAS / AV)
About the Role
As a Senior Vehicle Hardware Engineer (Electrical & System Integration), you will serve as the technical lead for electrical architecture, power distribution, in-vehicle networking, and system-level hardware bring-up across our ADAS and autonomous test vehicle fleets. You will translate high-level software and perception requirements into reliable, automotive-grade electrical architectures and wire harness solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Architecture & Power Design: Design low-voltage power distribution systems, including power sequencing, circuit protection, and battery backup solutions for high-performance compute nodes and sensor payloads.Harness & Interconnect Engineering: Design and oversee fabrication of automotive-grade wire harnesses, sensor cabling, and custom interconnect assemblies.Vehicle Networking & Synchronization: Integrate automotive communication buses (CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, LIN) and high-speed sensor data links (GMSL2/3, FPD-Link) with hardware-level time synchronization (PTP/IEEE 802.1AS, PPS).System Bring-Up & Diagnostics: Lead electrical bring-up, signal integrity testing, bus analysis, and fault diagnosis on prototype vehicles using standard lab and automotive diagnostic equipment.Cross-Functional System Collaboration: Work with perception, compute software, and safety engineering teams to define physical interfaces, power budgets, and sensor pinouts.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Master's degree. Experience: 5+ years of experience in automotive electrical engineering, electrical harness design, or system-level hardware integration for ADAS/AV systems.Electrical & Bus Protocols: Deep understanding of automotive power electronics, relay/fuse box design, and vehicle networks (CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet).Hardware Diagnostics: Hands-on proficiency with tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Wireshark, digital oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.Component Knowledge: Experience selecting automotive-grade connectors (TE Connectivity, Molex, Amphenol), fused protection, and high-speed serialization hardware.Preferred QualificationsProficiency with schematic capture and harness design tools (e.g., E3.series, PCAD, Altium, or Vector Architecture tools).Familiarity with automotive EMC/EMI mitigation techniques and ISO 26262 functional safety considerations for power delivery.Hands-on experience working in automotive workshop or prototype vehicle garage environments.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability / veterans. *Bosch adheres to Federal, State, and Local laws regarding drug-testing. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screen and background check. Candidates who have been offered the position must pass both screenings before their start date.
