Practical Information Location: Sofia, Bulgaria or Bucharest, Romania | Work arrangement: Hybrid | Contract type: Full-time | Visa status: Valid working visa for EU | Language requirements: Fluent/professional English, written and verbal We are seeking an experienced and hands-on VMware Engineer to design, deploy, automate, and support large-scale VMware Cloud  environments and private cloud transformations. You will work closely with architects, platform teams, and security specialists to deliver modern private and hybrid cloud platforms while driving automation, operational excellence, and platform reliability. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building, automating, and operating enterprise cloud platforms while working with cutting-edge VMware and Kubernetes technologies. Key Responsibilities - VCF Implementation & Operations:  Deploy, configure, and support full-stack VCF environments, including Management and Workload Domains - Platform Assessment:  Assess existing vSphere, vSAN, and NSX environments, identify gaps, and contribute to migration and modernization initiatives - Deployment & Integration:  Install and configure SDDC Manager, vCenter, NSX-T, and vDefend components - Automation & Infrastructure as Code:  Develop and maintain automation using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages to streamline provisioning and lifecycle management - Kubernetes Platform Engineering:  Deploy and manage Kubernetes platforms, including VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS, formerly TKG), supporting modern application workloads - Networking & Storage:  Configure and troubleshoot NSX networking, load balancing, vSAN, and Cloud Native Storage (CNS) integrations - Monitoring & Observability:  Implement monitoring and operational tooling, including VCF Operations for Containers - Hybrid Cloud Integration:  Support hybrid cloud deployments across VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, and Google Cloud VMware Engine - DevOps Enablement:  Integrate CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices to improve application delivery and platform automation - Technical Collaboration:  Work with customers, architects, and project teams to deliver successful implementations and provide technical guidance What we need to see from you - Several years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in enterprise environments - Strong experience deploying and operating VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2 environments; exposure to or training in VCF 9 is a must - Solid knowledge of VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager - Hands-on experience with VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS, formerly TKG) and modern application platforms - Familiarity with container networking using NSX, storage integration through vSAN/CNS, and container observability solutions - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible - Understanding of load balancing concepts and experience with VMware AVI Load Balancer - Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows - Experience supporting hybrid cloud solutions, including VMC on AWS, Azure VMware Solution, and Google Cloud VMware Engine - Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or within project teams - Customer-facing experience in professional services, consulting, or enterprise environments is advantageous Preferred Certifications: - VMware Certified Advanced Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation vSphere Kubernetes Service (VCAP-VKS) or equivalent Kubernetes expertise - VMware Certified Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation Architect (2V0-13.25) - Kubernetes certifications such as CKA , CKAD , or CKS What we offer: Our company benefits vary based on your location, but always include: - Global company culture: We defined our 6 core values through our company culture ( https://www.softwareone.com/en/our-story/our-values ) - A mentor who supports your successful start and is at your side with advice and action - President’s Club: Recognition awarded by leadership and your peers - Lifelong education: A variety of training and development opportunities - Hire to Grow: We optimize our internal structures and feedback culture constantly to be your Employer of Choice, today and in future Job Function Services Accommodations SoftwareOne welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and abilities to apply.
